Practical Tips for Traveling to Sri Lanka
Today’s destination of our travel story is Sri Lanka. The full video will cover how to get to Sri Lanka, where to stay, what to eat and where to go around. A detailed episode about everything. I hope you will get a rough idea about Sri Lanka after watching the whole video.
Our trip to Sri Lanka is starting from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. We collected the boarding pass at the airport. Then came the immigration, Bangladesh immigration asked a few questions, asked if there is a hotel booking, why I am going to Sri Lanka and whether I have obtained a visa. Checked everything and gave a seal without saying anything.
In this journey we are going in this plane of Indigo Airlines. We chose Indigo Airlines to fly for a little less money. Plane tickets vary in price from time to time. But if you buy the ticket a few days ago. You may get between 50 to 60 thousand with return ticket.
Welcome To Sri Lanka
I finally arrived in Sri Lanka at three o’clock in the night. We got down here and got out from the immigration with the entry seal in the passport. The Sri Lankan immigration officer did not ask us any such questions.
Inside the airport we first exchange some dollars for Sri Lankan Rupees. I also took a SIM card.
Then I took a tuk-tuk from the airport for 3500 rupees and left for Colombo.

If you want you can also take a private car which will cost around 5 to 6 thousand rupees. Tuktuk and private cars charge comparatively higher fares. Be sure to determine the price before getting into the car.
What is called CNG in our country is known as Tuktuk in Sri Lanka.
The airport is mainly located at Negombo, about 40 km from Colombo city. The morning was approaching as we walked this way. I was impressed by the clean environment on both sides of the road. I went to the front of the hotel to see the beautiful view of the city. This hotel cost us 4500 Sri Lankan rupees per night. I fell asleep in the room.
On my first day in Sri Lanka, I woke up and left the hotel for dinner. After searching for a while, I found an authentic Sri Lankan food restaurant by the sea behind our hotel. Their food quality is good enough but we as Bengalis are not satisfied. The main reason is that they add too much salt and pepper to the curries. Which we had a hard time eating. We couldn’t find a Bengali restaurant anywhere in Sri Lanka. But food in Muslim hotels is comparatively very good. There will be no problem for us Bangladeshis to eat food in Muslim hotels.
We are little bike lovers. Because of our international license. After lunch, I left for Negombo to rent a bike.
We are taking this tuk tuk to the Colombo bus stand. From there we will go to Negombo by bus. Bikes can be rented in Negombo for relatively less money.

Finally we rented a scooty from this garage for $7 per day. The security purpose of the bike is 100 dollars from us as security. Before taking the scooty to rent, you must take some pictures of the scooty to see if there are any sketches. So that you don’t have to pay a fine for a scratched scooty later.
It was almost evening for us to take the bike. Now we are going back to Colombo by scooty again.
Conclusion
On the second day, I went out in the morning to explore the nearby tourist place.

First we go to Galle Face Green, then Red Mosque, about which we will have a separate video inshallah. Next we want Lotus Tower. The Lotus Tower is currently the tallest in South Asia. This uncle is selling mangoes sitting in front of Lotus Tower. From here we play mangoes. Then our tour of Colombo city ends by wandering around the various alleys of the city.
Our Sri Lanka journey was truly amazing. You can go to Sri Lanka if you want. I have shared my travel experience with you. I hope you will benefit from this video. Our article specifically mentions the experience of traveling to Colombo. The atmosphere of Colombo city was really amazing. From my experience, Sri Lanka is second Europe.
We leave Colombo tomorrow for Kandy. Inshallah you will see that part in our next episode.
